What is Jev AI?
Jev AI is a decision model: it returns typed answers with probabilities. It is not a chat model that writes explanations.

What is noul in Jev?
Noul is the yes-or-no answer type in Jev AI, TypeSafe’s System One decision model. You ask a binary question and may add criteria for true and false. The Decisions API returns a typed field named noul: the probability that the answer is yes, from 0 to 1. It is not a chat sentence or its own storage format.

Noul: yes / no
Ask a binary question. The response includes noul, the probability that the answer is “yes”. Optional criteria can describe what true and false mean.
Scene: “Is this message a refund request?” before opening a ticket.
Choice: pick a label
Provide up to 255 options as a map of option to description (or null). Returns the winning choice, a full probability map, and confidence.
Scene: route support mail to billing, technical, or sales.
Score: ordered levels
Pass 2 to 10 ordered levels. Returns the selected score, legend, probabilities, and confidence. Useful for urgency or risk bands.
Scene: tag lead quality low, medium, or high.
Confidence vs probability
Probabilities distribute mass across options. Confidence summarizes how peaked that distribution is. Official materials describe probabilities as calibrated across a population. That does not guarantee any single answer is correct.
When not to use Jev AI
- Open-ended writing, marketing copy, or chat UX
- Exact arithmetic or deterministic transforms (use code)
- Image, audio, or video understanding. Text only today
- Anything that needs a natural-language explanation as the primary artifact
FAQ
Is Jev AI open source?
No source in this handbook shows TypeSafe AI releasing the Jev model weights. Official GitHub entries we index are clients, adapters, and agent skills, each with its own license. Community projects grouped as open models say they are independent and do not reproduce TypeSafe’s private weights. Treat the hosted Jev API as a closed model unless TypeSafe publishes weights, and read the license on any repository before you reuse it.
